Job Title: Director of Operations – ARC Colorado, Inc.

Job Description

The Operations Director will lead and manage operational execution for all production, scheduling, and manufacturing support for 200 people across a 3 shift manufacturing operation. Will develop strategies to achieve operational objectives for daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual metrics including Safety, Sales, Productivity, Scrap, Cost Management, and Net Income. These objectives are achieved via teamwork with cross-functional departments and motivating the production workforce. The position demands strong organizational, excellent leadership, effective communication and team building skills, as this person will interface with all levels of the organization. This person must have a focus on customer communication and relationships. Have the ability to develop innovative solutions that push boundaries.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with senior managers in the development of company performance goals and long-term operational plans. Flow down company team goals and objectives into actionable programs and initiatives.
  • Maximize efficiency and productivity through and interdepartmental collaboration.
  • Work with the senior management team in the development of financial and budgetary plans.
  • Analyze current operational processes and performance, recommending solutions for improvement where necessary and work with the team on solutions.
  • Support and collaborate with the Engineering team on new product development projects to ensure that the process is effective and supports the production requirements of the customer.
  • Act as a role model and sponsor of safety. Ensure employees are adhering to all safety policies and feel empowered to raise any safety concerns.
  • Coordinate efforts of immediate staff with EH&S support and other resources as required to continually improve safety performance.
  • Drive site lean continuous improvement or 6S initiatives and ensure that the site meets pre-established targets for improvement in the areas of sort, set-in-order, shine, sustain, standardize, and safety.
  • Manage the department budgets and takes ownership of exceeding daily performance targets. Drive key performance indicators (Safety, Quality, OTD, and Cost). When misses occur, develop a credible recovery plan, and deploy resources to address gaps.
  • Ensure department employees are properly trained in applicable work instructions and work is being performed to procedure. Coordinate efforts of staff with Engineering and other resources to modify work instructions as required to continually improve in areas of process control, safety, quality, yield, throughput, and cost.
  • Communicate with direct reports so that all goals, expectations, and performance against plans are well understood. Encourage employee participation and involvement to foster teamwork, ownership, and employee satisfaction.
  • Develop supervisory staff to perform at increasingly higher levels and to accept broader responsibilities through coaching and training in leadership, teambuilding, and other applicable subjects like lean manufacturing.
  • Ensure equipment and facilities are properly maintained to minimize downtime and to maximize throughput opportunity.
  • Identify capital requirements to meet company goals and objectives. Coordinate efforts of resources (Staff, Finance, Maintenance, and Engineering) to develop capital authorization requests for submission.

Job Title: Firearms Development Manager

Department: Engineering

Reports To: VP Engineering

SUMMARY

This is an upper level technical leadership role at ARC-Colorado, reporting to the VP Engineering. This position interacts directly with Business Development Managers [BDM], Program Management Team, Project Engineers, Tooling Department, Quality Assurance, Operations Team, and Customers. This role is intended to lead the development of new firearms part programs for the Engineering Department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Provide overall technical leadership of new and existing Firearms part programs
  • Allocate and/or lead all new Firearms part programs from PO receipt to PRR approval
  • Improve and/or create program development processes via PR-013, in cooperation with VP Engineering
  • Responsible for review of prints for new or replacement Firearms part programs [MIM and PIM]
  • Provide technical guidance for improving challenging SEC operations of legacy firearms parts
  • Serve as technical liaison for program management team and DFM support
  • Ensure proper part program kickoff and compliance to engineering procedures and protocols
  • Supervision of engineering documentation for successful part program launch
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations

Job Title: Validation Quality Engineer

SUMMARY

The validation quality engineer role is responsible for facilitating the transition from new product development to production by leading process validation and improvement activities for medical, aerospace and automotive programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Assist Engineering in New Product Development, process establishment, and process validation/verification by:

  • Leading validation activities including preparing IQ, OQ, and PQ protocols and reports.
  • Working with the metrologist and other quality roles to develop and validate inspection routines for automated test equipment.
  • Performing measurement system analysis (MSA) studies and process capability studies for new part programs.
  • Working with engineering to design functional gaging which meets customer requirements.
  • Assisting and monitors production part quality, work activities, troubleshoot and resolve unusual part quality problems through analytical analysis in a cross-disciplinary approach.
  • Working with Tool Room personnel to implement modifications to tools as necessary to meet print specifications and approve release for production.

SUMMARY
This is an entry to mid-level engineering position. This position completes engineering tasks and projects as assigned by the Program Manager and/or Engineering Manager. Interacts with all production departments to facilitate the completion of assigned projects. Responsible for organizing and controlling project elements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Develops detailed project plans by reviewing objectives of Program Manager for specific part programs.
  • Conducts experimental testing, laboratory testing, quality inspection, or similar as assigned.
  • Reviews project plan with Program Manager and/or Engineering Manager.
  • Reviews and understands project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards.

Job Title: Production Operator

JOB SUMMARY

This is a position for molding and/or secondary operations. Performs duties required in metal injection molding (MIM) and/or secondary operations. Produces and inspects parts to be shipped to the customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

MIM knowledge and skills to perform the tasks required in the production of metal parts.

May visually inspect or use measuring devices to ensure all parts meet customer specifications and quality criteria.

Learns and applies material handling procedures: small hoppers are filled each 40-45 minutes, holding one scoop of material - 4 lb. max; large hoppers are filled up to 4x a shift ( approx. every 2 hrs.); scoops weighing up to 5 lbs. – takes 15 scoops at one time to fill; assistance is available for the large hoppers, if needed.

Learns and applies finishing processes required.

Completes and maintains documentation on parts neatly and accurately.

Follows instructions both written and verbal, asking questions as necessary.

Accurately inputs data and information into computer system.

Utilizes basic mathematical skills to track and record numeric items with accuracy and efficiency.

Cross trains in both molding operations and in secondary in order to perform each job as necessary.

Operates a metal injection molding machine as per established cycles and procedures.

Maintains the mold in a clean and operational condition to ensure quality parts are being produced.

Learns material designation meaning, material handling procedures, and all aspects of the part acceptance and rejection criteria.

Extracts and handles molded parts with precision and care, staging them accordingly.

Records pertinent information regarding parts being produced on required forms.

Visually inspects parts for any defects forwarding them to be reground, scrapped, or shipped to the next production area as appropriate.

Maintains a neat and clean work environment adhering to safety procedures.

This is a skilled position for CNC operations. Performs more advanced duties required for the finishing & machining of metal parts. Will learn the everyday duties required to run the CNC Machining Centers to include the loading of fixture with parts, change and measure tools for the machine, inspect and verify the machining of the parts, deburring, cleaning and packaging of parts processed in the CNC Cell.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Summary

This is a highly skilled position that requires a thorough understanding of building and repairing internal mold components with experience in programming strategies and machining processes and approaches within a manufacturing environment.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTION
  • Manage equipment utilization with Tooling Supervisor.
  • Set up, program and operate CNC equipment in the tool room to build mold components.

SUMMARY

This position reports directly to the Engineering Manager – with the primary responsibility of completing assigned experimentation related to Metal Injection Molding and Plastic Injection Molding. Projects will be selected and prioritized based on manufacturing needs, process improvements, cost savings, and overall impact to the business.

EMPLOYMENT TIMING / DURATION
  • This position is intended to occur during the Fall or Spring semester of college academics
  • Fall Co-Op timing is approximately August through December
  • Spring Co-Op timing is approximately January through May
  • The Spring Co-Op has the option to extend through the summer months, if required
  • Specific start and end dates to be determined in cooperation with the candidate

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Monitor and analyze molding process performance for continuous improvement opportunities
  • Assist in establishing process control limits and standard work instructions
  • Develop manufacturing processes, procedures, and equipment to ensure consistent high quality results
  • Design, schedule, supervise, and analyze experiments to develop or improve new processes, equipment, or materials [possible white paper opportunities]

  • BS Plastic Engineering Technology [enrolled – 4 semesters completed minimum]
  • Proven ability to operate various types of injection molding machines, establish 2-stage processing parameters, implement processing control, and troubleshoot part defects]
  • Ability to complete and analyze MoldFlow simulations]
  • Understanding of Metal Injection Molding [MIM] and scientific molding principles]
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal]
  • Good analytical skills in using data to make sound engineering decisions]
  • Ability to document and present experimental results and technical knowledge]

We are looking for NPD Engineer to Rétság (Nógrád County) who has ability to manage the new products development (excluding product design) from beginning to serial production, understand customer specifications, technical applications and coming from relevant manufacturing industry. Industry focus is in the Automotive, Aerospace, Medical and Defense manufacturing segments but not limited to those areas.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and validate the products, meet with the project milestones and completion.
  • Analyze customer product specifications and applicable regulations /legislation for their area of the program.
  • Define the product functional analysis (based on standard) to translate customer specifications and internal requirements into clear product performance criteria.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of process documentation.
  • Define, plan, and follow the product validations, product improvements to meet the specifications.
  • Support reaching the quality, costs and delivery targets of the program.
  • Support and lead process improvement activities.
  • Achieve goals within budget.
  • Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems.
  • Lead and/or support technicians and trainee engineers.
  Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s engineering degree and at least 2 years’ relevant experience in:
    • Manufacturing and New Product Development.
    • Automotive Industry Experience
    • Preferred, but not required for IATF 16469, Process Flow, FMEA, Control Plans.
    • Knowledge of professional programs: CAD (Solidworks preferred), Statistical software, MS-Office with MS - Project.
    • Ability to make presentations for both internal and external review.
    • Technical drawing reading and understanding knowledge.
  • Green or Black Belt DMAIC Training.
  • Highly energetic and exceptionally organized.
  • Personally and professionally motivated without need for regular, direct oversight.
  • Honest and have a positive "can-do" attitude with proven independent problem-solving capabilities.
  • A real team player, with a high level of dedication to "get the job done".
  • Ability to obtain information, build relationships inside the organization and outside with the customer technical team.
  • Experience in project management highly preferred and interacting with outside customers.
